Use case or problem

New files in graph view are not created in the Folder specified by a filter (eg path:FolderA) or the local graph.
From a user perspective it feels strange, that I ‘open’ a folder in graph view, but new files are always created in the document root.
It would much smoother and intuituitve if the file creation in graph view would respect paths set by a filter. Same goes for local graphs.

Proposed solution

If the “default location for new note” setting is set to “same as current file”, new files should be created in:

  • the same folder as the note, for which the local graph is opened
  • the folder specified by the filter, if the graph view is filtered
