New Account, Sync Setup

What I’m trying to do

The new account, Obsidian Sync setup process is baffling me.

I’m trying to access my files on any device without having to create vaults on every device as is suggested by the mobile app setup interface.

Things I have tried

Surely I am not the first to experience this.

I created my Obsidian account, imported all my Evernote folders in, and have been doing great on my PC notebook. I learn I can sync to multiple devices using the Obsidian Sync service for a cost. So, I sign up for the $10/month multi-vault plan. No problem, I thought this would be a cloud account where I could access the same folders on any device.

I install Obsidian (Android) on my mobile and cannot access my files sitting on my notebook. I end up learning I have to login to Sync in my desktop account.

Why this is so un-intuitive is beyond me. I’ll just cut to the chase because spelling out the step by step UX process and UI confusion will take too long to describe. I would love to help, but not if this goes unheard.

In any case, can anyone tell me the process to setup my phone (and my chromebook, tablet etc.) to access my Obsidian files?

Thanks for any help!

In here, where are you lost?

Thanks @WhiteNoise. I’m not sure I initially saw that page. The way it worked in a tldr; is creating a sync account, creating a vault on my mobile, then returning to my desktop Obsidian settings in Core Plugins, Sync, and clicking on Choose (Remote Vault), a Your Remote Vaults popup appears with my mobile vault showing, then clicking Connect. Thanks again!
