Additional information
I have 8 parent tags with many nested tags in each (most groups have enough tags so that if only one is expanded, the sidebar will scroll). I had one of the bottom parent tags in the list expanded so I could reference it as I typed, which is when I noticed the issue that the other parent tag groups won’t stay collapsed. I am able to reproduce the issue in Sandbox where all parent tags expand. Interestingly, in my vault, only two specific parent tags expand regardless of the sort applied.
Add a new headline in the note with the sidebar open OR change to another open tab and return to the original tab
Expected result
Any collapsed outline stays collapsed as you type or return.
Actual result
Within some seconds of typing or on return from another tab, the outline in the sidebar is fully expanded.

Yes, what I amended here on Jan 21 to darnocer’s report about the tags affects the outline pane. The way I see it, it’s the same behavior, but a different panel. That’s why I simply added it here instead of opening a new, dedicated bug report. But sure, I can create a new bug report.
