Steps to reproduce

1. Make a table
2. Create a wikilink note in the table. [[test]]
3. Change name of note in the table. not the actuall note name. [[First step|test]]

This is not a bug. In a table you’ll have to escape the | with a \, because the | is used to separate rows in tables. In your case it would be [[First step\|test]].

Use case or problem Obsidian doesn’t support wikilink renames in tables without escaping the pipe. Proposed solution The parser should detect if it is inside wikilink brackets.
