Mobile UI change: floating nav has heavy impact on daily workflow, request option for fixed bottom nav

I have been using Obsidian daily for about four years across multiple devices, and it is one of the most important tools in my entire workflow. I truly appreciate how powerful and reliable it has been.

However, the new floating and auto-hiding mobile navigation bar is a major regression in usability.

The previous full-width, permanently visible bottom bar was highly functional and predictable. The new rounded, floating design that disappears while scrolling creates friction in basic navigation. I now frequently have to tap into text areas just to make the bar reappear, which interrupts reading and editing flow .

This change may look more modern, but in practice it significantly worsens workflow efficiency. For users who work extensively and seriously in Obsidian, stability and functional consistency matter more than visual styling.

I would strongly appreciate an option to restore the previous fixed bottom navigation bar or at least a setting to keep the mobile navigation permanently visible.

Obsidian has always stood out because it respects users who rely on it as a serious tool. I hope this aspect of usability can be reconsidered.

Thanks.

ok, sorry. i will post it as a feature request

Option to revert the changes on mobile UI has been asked for since the update.

To my knowledge, the most recent update has introduced options to toggle on/off these aspects of the new UI.

Thank you, that would be great!
I apologize if I didn’t find all the announcements and similar information.
I searched the forum several times, but only found the post with the custom CSS option.
