Use case or problem
Imagine you click a link in the email app and it redirects to chrome and chrome opens the link over your existing tab instead of opening on the new tab.
That’s what is happening now when we create a new note from widget or open a daily note.
I hope the importance of this makes sense now.
It’s a UX problem if the chrome will open the new link in an existing opened tab without considering what was there before hand and in the flow humans may forget to get back to that tab or information and lose the progress or even the whole topic.
And the same is true for creating new notes through widgets. We may have left some tabs open to get back to them later. That is the use of tabs. But now we make a note through the widget and it overrides the existing tab and we may forget and don’t get back.
Proposed solution
opening a new tab for new notes that we intend to create through widgets. Or give in option in setting for how someone wants to use this. There might be some who want to open on top of existing tab. I am not sure.
