What is the minimum version of MacOS required to install Obsidian? I’ve tried to install it on a machine running 10.9.5 and no luck. Is there a alternative install method?
Can you be more specific about how you are installing it and what happens?

Installing using the dmg results in the crossed out app icon, meaning its not compatible with the current OS. I’m not a power user but I was wondering if there’s another way to get it onto this machine without updating it.
re-download the dmg and drag the application to the desktop instead of into the apps folder, then punt it into the apps folder. see what happens.
Still the same result with the latest dmg, along with a message that 10.10 is needed. So I guess than answers the first part of my question (the OS requirement) and doesn’t bode well for the second (can it be circumvented?)

Only 64bit binaries are provided for macOS, and the minimum macOS version supported is macOS 10.10 (Yosemite).
So unfortunately you’re out of luck here.
