Membership Anywhere

I’ve been thinking about a plugin idea for Obsidian that could help organizations, museums, associations, clubs, and membership-based businesses manage member information directly from their knowledge base.

Concept

The plugin would allow users to:

  1. Store member records as Obsidian notes

  2. Generate digital membership cards from note properties

  3. Create Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes

  4. Track membership status and expiration dates

  5. Link member profiles to events, visits, and memberships

  6. Display dashboards using Dataview queries

  7. Export selected member records to external membership platforms

Workflow

A note could contain:

  1. Member Name

  2. Membership ID

  3. Join Date

  4. Expiration Date

  5. Membership Tier

  6. Contact Information

Potential Integrations

It would be interesting if the plugin could connect with external membership management platforms such as Membership Anywhere or other CRM/member management systems through APIs.

Use Cases

  1. Museums

  2. Botanical Gardens

  3. Historical Societies

  4. Nonprofits

  5. Alumni Associations

  6. Membership Clubs

  7. Community Organizations

Would anyone else find this useful? I’m curious whether other Obsidian users manage membership programs, visitor records, or community organizations and would benefit from a workflow like this.

This post made me remember about:

Translated:

Log community activities, visits, and the educational process of your Bahá’í group from a dashboard with quick access. Save visits including sector, cycle, visited individuals, tutors, prayer, campaign, and photos; manage classes, circles, and attendees with auto-completable tutors. Generate KPI reports by sector and campaign, and sync data among members via Supabase.

I haven’t tried myself so beware, but just as a sort of “prove“ that it may be helpful.
