Mathjax: Aligned and square brackets

Steps to reproduce

This is the following piece of problematic latex source:

\begin{aligned}
	[x]^{**}
\end{aligned}
$$

Expected result

I expect this result.

Additional information

Instead of aligned, align environment works fine, and so are the inline math mode, it’s only broken for latex environment aligned inside of block math mode.

that’s not valid latex.

It works on vs code and in Latexmk. Do you want evidence to convince you?

Actually don’t worry about it it’s mathjax’s problem.
