The Make.md plugin is a GREAT project. I like it so much!
But: imho, what most users need is its Spaces function.
Spaces by Make.md really supercharge Obsidian: alternative, fully customizable file manager, alternative workspaces, great folder notes where you can custom sort notes by drag and drop, colors and emoji for files, notes that can exist in several folders at the same time and so on - there are lots of great ideas implemented!
Spaces is 1/5 of the plugin itself. And here is where the problems start. Yes, all the other parts can be just swithced off in the plugin itself, but it is not of much help yet, as the problem remains. For example, in large vaults the caching (or else?) process loads CPU and memory up to 90% for several minutes, the app freezes at the start, there are no hotkeys for specific spaces and folders, the size of symbols and spaces pictures can’t be customized and so on. There are lots of things to be improved.
I really like this amazing plugin! But Obsidian itself has evolved so much, that some of Make.md’s functions are already covered by the app itself, the others seem to be for tech-geeks.
The weakpoint of Obsidian (imho) is the Non-Zettelkasten File Manager and Workspaces (no custom sort, no colors, no one and the same note in several folders and so on, plus it also freezes and loads CPU when u have thousands of notes).
This city needs a hero, who is able to cut all the other stuff out of the Make.md plugin and introduce a clear and fast version of Spaces.
Maybe it is better to create a new plugin with similar functions?
Please, reply if u need more info on this idea, i’ll be glad to share the concpet.
