Make links to external files readable for multiple users

What I’m trying to do

At work, I use links to external files on our shared OneDrive a lot. But if I share my notes to colleagues, they cannot use these links, because the filepath to the external link, actually points to the local copy of the OneDrive-document on my device.

the external links I use look like this
[here is the link](<file:c:\Users~my Username~\our OneDrive at work\test.pdf>)

Things I have tried

Is there a way to replace the part ~my Username~ by a variable, which includes the Standard-User of the device?

Or how would you proceed here?

I think you’d need to share the folder.
Symlink the original folder to the shared folder, voilá.

I’d ask a robot as these folders could be special.
