Have recorded a video comparing the Obsidian’s Graph View with the org-roam-ui one.
I really think the team should enhance it, and the good part is that the org-roam-ui code is FOSS, so they can really use it as a reference!
Highlights:
- the note should not be opened on the same tab when clicked on the graph, as we just want to explore the content, while keeping the ability to see it one the graph and jump to another note from there;
- the graph should zoom into the local vie of the node and highlight the surroundings for better orientating on the graph;
- colors should be revised to reflect the size of the node;
- an official 3D view would greatly enhance the experience.
I think the graph to be one of the most useful things on Obsidian, unfortunately need a bit of rework in my opinion
