What I’m trying to do

I have this code to change the color of graphing lines between nodes but I can’t figure out exactly HOW to make a css file & put it into obsidian.

Things I have tried

I use a Mac so I’ve used the TextEdit & I downloaded Sublime Text. Every file I make disappears when I place it into the snippets folder.

Other than the first snippet, theme-dark .graph-view.color-line {...}, I don’t think any of this CSS will do anything. Is it from an LLM?

In any event, let’s figure out why your file is disappearing first.

Assuming you have followed all the how to CSS snippets and the file is a valid .css file, where is your vault located? Is it in a cloud sync service location? iCloud Drive, One Drive, etc.

If the service isn’t configured properly to always keep a local copy of all the files & folders in a vault, that could be a cause of things vanishing.

honestly, I don’t know the answer to anything. i’ve been trying to figure it all out but mostly winging it. thanks for trying but I think i’ll just forget it. coding is so not for me.

Fair enough, but I’m worried about the disappearing file. :cold_sweat:

If it’s happening to this .css file, it could happen to your notes as well.

Take a breather and, when you come back, check the location of the vault. If it is in a sync service folder, let’s make sure that service is set properly. :slightly_smiling_face:

Honestly it might not have been an actual .css file. That’s part of why I was struggling so much. I couldn’t figure out how to actually make one in the first place. I got as far as I did with the code by asking chatgpt in desperation
