Use case or problem
Sync won’t handle files >100mb. Sometimes I’m unaware that a file hasn’t synced
Proposed solution
Add an error message to the sync log, something like “Skipping file (name) as it exceeds 100Mb limit”

This feature would be very useful, as the current behavior almost feels like a bug: files over the individual size limit are just silently ignored by Sync.
With the new Standard plan, the lack of logging is even worse than when this feature request was originally posted: the size limit for each file is now just 5 MB, which has a much greater risk of affecting files like images or PDFs.
Edited the main post to make it capture for all Sync plans.
I also came across this problem where files didn’t get sync because it’s >5MB. Some warnings would be very helpful (anything but failing silently).
If there’s an easy way to see this in Obsidian, it would allow me to consider subscribing to the higher capacity plan and resolve the problem.
I just gave it a . For folks looking at the sync logs, something like this will make it clear exactly what’s going on and avoid confusion. An in-app notification would be even better.
Want to throw my two cents in on this feature. In my case, and many others I imagine, it leads users to think there is a BUG with sync, which leads to loss in confidence in the service. The limitation is mentioned on the Sync page, which may be glossed over, or forgotten by users.
Implementing this is a possible reduction in support/mod time spent, as well as a reduction in possibly cancelled subscriptions for users who do not attempt to make a bug report thread and assume the service has issues.
