Live Preview: Same document image drag and drop should move the image (link) not duplicate it

Operating System: Mac OS 26.5.1

Scenario: I have a markdown file with clipped screenshots of information relevant to my document. I decide I need to move one image to a new section or perhaps change the order of two images. So I click and drag the image to it’s new desired location.

Actual Behavior: The image gets duplicated and now it exists both in it’s previous location as well as a cloned copy in the place which it was dragged.

Desired Behavior: Clicking and dragging an image onto a different line moves the image and does not create any duplicates.

Thanks, this is currently intentional behavior.
However, I think what you describe is the more common expected pattern.

Yes, and if duplication is still something useful that people use, programs like photoshop typically use “option+drag” (or windows equivalent) as the hotkey.
