List items with a heading don't render italics in live edit mode

Title says the whole thing, also see example below. They render correctly in reading mode, and headings not in a list item render correctly in both. Also, other things like highlighting still work in list items. It doesn’t seem to make a difference if you’re on the first line of a list item or have indented second lines like below, neither render correctly.
