Linux -- Obsidian icon

The Obsidian Logo should show up in the top left corner. Under Wayland + KDE it displays the X windows logo. Not a bug but not really desirable.

Rocky Linux 9.2

Seems to be an issue with Electron, though supposedly fixed with v21: fix: set Wayland application ID by vially · Pull Request #34855 · electron/electron · GitHub

The desktopFileName is indeed not populated:

I am using the Flatpak, on Fedora 40 KDE.

Generic Wayland icon shows on the Task Switcher (Alt + Tab) as well as Overview type effects.

Workaround (KDE)

Window Rules → New

  • Window class (application): obsidian obsidian
  • Match whole window class: Yes
  • Add Property...Desktop file name → Set to Force and md.obsidian.Obsidian
