[Linux] CJK Input Method (IME), Fcitx5 display bug

Steps to reproduce

  • version 1.9.12-1

  • Arch Linux, Wayland, fcitx5

  • Switch to a Japanese input method (IME), called Fcitx5

  • Start typing.

  • The character selection panel drifts similar to an earlier issue seen here ( forum.obsidian.md/t/chinese-input-method-position-drift/93820/6 ) covering the currently typed word unable to see input.

  • Typing also leaves artifacts (flashing 1px dots or 1px line below the word.);

  • Sometimes the deleted characters are visible even though I cancelled it through the IME.

(I also have the zoomed in UI issue)

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Additional information

I have reverted to 1.8.10

I am not sure if you are using the appimage or not. We do not provide support for the Arch package because we don’t make it.

That being said, we haven’t made any change to this part of the code.
This may be an electron regression, in this case, if you use 1.8.10 appimage and let it self upgrade to 1.9.x, it may still work.
