Line breaks in <i> tags break

HTML elements need to be full contained in one markdown block (that is no empty lines). This is design decision of Obsidian. It’s a performance optimization for long documents.

Markdown Rendering doesn't comply with CommonMark or GFM

We intentionally do not support intermingling markdown syntax within html blocks and blank lines in html blocks. This is the result of an optimization to handle very large files and to support synchronization between editing and reading mode. I’ll try to add a note to the docs.

<word> breaks following code blocks

I have tested this on a clean Obsidian build. If you type , all following code blocks denoted by the backtick (`) or the triple backtick (```c++) will no longer render as code blocks in edit mode. Preview mode works. Inserting any sort of punctuation in between the < and > symbols allows it to render them as code blocks.
