Links display as inactive

What I’m trying to do

When I open a note containing links the links show up as inactive, and in the case of markdown links the URL are displayed.

When the titles of the linked notes contain several words, with “%20” appearing the spaces between words, the links are messy and nearly unreadable.

Things I have tried

I have searched here on versions of this topic. Many link-related posts. I didn’t see any that were clearly related to this issue. I doubt the help site addresses this problem.

I’ve solved my own problem. I had files set to edit mode. :grimacing:

Worse, I confess recalling that I recently changed the default view for new tabs/notes to editing. Why? I don’t know. :grimacing:, again.
