I am a newbie, looking for guidance.

Hereunder I put three links, out of which the first two are working fine, while the third one is not.

“Click here to go to Google!”:http://www.google.com

“Click here to go to Start Page!”:https://www.startpage.com

“Click here to go to Twitter!”:https://twitter.com/home

You mean the link to Twitter isn’t working in Obsidian?

I have no problems using it. Make sure you put a space after the colon in your examples, e.g., “Click here: https://twitter.com”.

Same as what Ryan said, without the space all three links don’t work for me, and with space all three work for me.

No way. The first two links work without (and also with) the space after the colon.
The last one doesn’t work either way.
In Obsidian 0.8.2.

Can you use triple backticks or code formatting and paste the exact Markdown code you are using?

P.S. On MacOS, all 3 links works even without a space after the first colon. But this is what I’m pasting into Obsidian. I have no idea what formatting you are actually using, since the forum might be changing what you are trying to paste:

Still, I pasted your three links on my Windows10 Obsidian, and the first two are working properly, whereas the third one doesn’t.

This is almost definitely an issue with your system. Does that link to Twitter work when clicked from another app (e.g., Word?) What exactly does “the link doesn’t work” mean? What exactly happens when you click the link? What else have you tried? Are there other links that don’t work, or is it only that specific URL?

I’m on Windows 10 and the links work for me. Were the links originally typed into the note or copied/pasted from somewhere else?

No. I tried in Word and I got the message “Unable to open https://twitter.com/home. No program is registered to open this file.”

What exactly happens when you click the link?
Nothing. Only in Word that message pops up. I tried also in MyInfo and nothing (literally) happens, like in Obsidian.

Are there other links that don’t work, or is it only that specific URL?
Only that specific URL.

This is an issue with your computer, unfortunately. It has nothing to do with Obsidian, hence why you’re getting it in Word too. See:
