Link to file in folder does not include folder by default - duplicates create issues

The Situation:

• Test
  ** T1.pdf
• T1.pdf

When I drag+drop the file into a note, it gets linked as “T1” or “Test/T1” respectively.

But:

• Test
  ** T2.pdf
• T1.pdf

Now each one will just be called “T1” and “T2”. If i later create this:

• Test
  ** T2.pdf
• T1.pdf
• T2.pdf

They will be called “T1”, “T2” and “T2”, with two of those being identical.

“Solution”
I don’t know if that is an actual issue (or if Obsidian tracks these things and somehow rewrites the link later on if it needs to), but one could just solve this by including the path by default.

Maybe someone can help me out here, is this an issue or am I missing something?

For anyone reading this → Resolved by changing the option “New link format” to “Absolute path in vault” under “Settings” → “Files & Links”.
