LifeHQ - Mike Schmitz

Hi all,

Happy new year!

Just wanted to get feedback on this product by Mike Schmitz called LifeHQ LifeHQ — Practical PKM

It costs $297 for the standard and about $600+ annually for more one on one features.

Its basically all the templates and plugins in one package. Aimed at noobs like me I guess.

Has anyone bought this? Is it worth it?

Its been a few months now since it became available. Those who have bought it are you keeping up with it or its now back to Apple Notes for you guys?

Sorry to bother you guys with these questions but just want some first hand experience from users before I buy.

I think it’s disappointing that he doesn’t offer a refund which is why you’re smart to ask for feedback on it.

I would recommend exercising a very “skeptical” approach to this kind of service offer. Obsidian and an assortment of community plugins is easily mastered with just a few hours of individual effort with little or no out of pocket costs. The entire emphasis on PKM is the letter P which means creating a “personal” system that you create and works best for yourself…

I have to agree with @msm8378 here

A Second Brain is a “Personal” Knowledge Mangement System with an assortment of Community Plugins that can be easily mastered by investing some time in learning.

It does take a lot of research and time to build a system that works and can be tempting to invest in a system that is already pre-built. I respect the hard work Mike has put in to build his system and Mike has a lot of value on his YouTube Channel.

Before jumping into any new PKM system, explore free vaults and consume Obsidian content. You might be surprised what you discover. The short road is always tempting but taking your time and enjoying the process is much better than the short term desirable outcome. The only exception would be if you found a System that fits your specific needs and you’re time constrained.

To quote from my Obsidian Beginner Series

Obsidian has a thriving online community where you can find a wealth of helpful tips and tricks. However, it can be quite overwhelming, especially for beginners who haven’t yet settled on a system that works for them.
