I am looking for a way to view my notes length in terms of A4, letter or legal format. Is there a plugin that provides this ability? I also plan on printing or publishing my notes as pdfs or word docs, however, I never know where the content of the notes I have taken will render in a document.
If i understand you correctly, then export your note as pdf. Done this, check your printer options how you’d like to print your pdf.
If Obsidians default theme and export settings aren’t enough, check out some themes which improve exporting as pdf. I personally don’t remember which themes to suggest for a nice print.
But you could try out my theme called Dune and report back if my export adjustments are ok for you

Ideally, what I would like to see in Obsidian, is a view that show where pages break withioout having to resort to print to pdf. Many times when I write notes and embed images or other items, then export to pdfs, the images will get truncated ad fall on different pages.
Exactly, page breaks happen randomly with the default theme and its default pdf export settings.
Dune (theme) deals with line breaks, page breaks and avoids ugly surprises in the printout. Export settings apply both to text bodies and pictures.
Basically, you’ll be able to control line and page breaks and see the results in your pdf output (also, you’ll need the style settings plugin installed, to configure all features of my theme) .
There’s no need to change any setting in Dune to get a better print, just use default settings.
