Left Ribbon Icons not responding to touch in Windows

Steps to reproduce

The left ribbon icons do not respond to touch in Windows 10 when using Obsidian v1.11.7, This has been confirmed on a Surface pro 7 and Yoga 730. The Yoga 730 was initially running an old version of Obsidian v1.5.12 which the ribbon worked as expected but when updated it to 1.11.7 the left ribbon now no longer responds to touch. Every other button and feature responds to touch. I have also confirmed it happens on Windows 11 24H2

Ran in restricted mode

Expected result

The left ribbon buttons should click like all the other buttons. This worked as expected in at least v1.5.12.

Actual result

1.11.7 does a blue explosion when the left ribbon icon is touched rather than activating the require ribbon button. You can touch and move icons. If you keep touching eventually it might trigger but I have not seen any logic to this and often the wrong icon is triggered.

Additional information

Yoga 730 was running Windows 10 1903 (a old test machine)
Surface Pro 7 was running Windows 10 22H2

Just to get it out of the way:

Does the same behavior happen in Sandbox vault? ctrl + p → Open sandbox vault?

Yes. Same in sandbox vault. I thought the requirement was to test in Restricted Mode or Sandbox. Not both.

After finding 1.5.12 works as expected and having some time, I started to install older versions to see where the left ribbon touch function broke.

I started going back by first full 1.x releases. 1.10.3 works as expected. I didn’t go back any more as it seems to be a recent thing.

Then I started going back by more recent versions. 1.11.5 does not. 1.11.4 does sort of but the touch point seems low on the icon and requires multiple touches which leads to inaccuracy.

1.10.6 works as expected and seems to be the last that does.

Just a FYI. Would be nice to have more than 1 edit per post as often it takes me a few to clearly say what I want. But maybe that is a me problem :>

I should add I get the same lack of ribbon icon triggering with touch and pen. Both work okay in 1.10.6.

Oh the ribbons icons do work when you use the mouse.

Still broken in Obsidian v.1.12.4.

Still broken in Obsidian v.1.12.7 although it does seem to trigger sometimes if you touch it just right. Maybe 1 in 10 triggers. Could be a change or I am just getting more methodical in how I trigger the left ribbon icons with my pen. Still nowhere near as reliably as Obsidian v.1.10.6.

Thanks for the reply. Just wanted to show I still care and care enough to check each release :slight_smile: . It is not urgent as I can survive and work around on Obsidian v.1.10.6 on the machine in question.

It’s unlikely that this will get fixed without me writing it here first, but do let me know if it gets fixed.
