LaTeX math symbol picker

I sometimes work on LaTeX files in VS Code in tandem with the LaTeX Workshop plugin. The plugin has a snippet feature to help with some common LaTeX commands and symbols.

Interestingly, it has a symbol picker (snippet view) tab that allows finding symbols either by search or eyeballing, and inserts the LaTeX command for the symbol right in the editor:

It would be awesome if a similar thing was implemented as an Obsidian plugin that would spare me googling for the commands like “TeX equal sign with two dots” or drawing a symbol poorly with my mouse on detexify .

Not entirely sure where to begin and it has been pushed down my to do list in that last couple of weeks.
