Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a note with the following content
>$y=\sigma(w\top+b)$
$y=\sigma(w\top+b)$
  1. The first line will render correctly but the 2nd line won’t

When you post here, you need first to first try the default CSS.

Not sure what exactly you are trying to achieve. If you want to put the formula in the center you can use $$ formula $$

Mixing latex and html tags is not explicitely supported.
