Use case or problem

I can’t see most of my search query when I write large ones

Proposed solution

The current search box seems to allow only a single line. Allow a multi-line one instead. This should be one that a user can drag to a large size (textarea?)

Current workaround (optional)

I write a search query in my notes and then copy it into the search box. It works but it’s cumbersome if I want to edit it in the search box itself.

Related feature requests (optional)

I’d like a command to increase number of lines in search box so it may be done using a hotkey.

I agree, this would be a useful feature to have. I also use long search queries plus like a narrow sidebar, so most screen is for content, not a list of filenames.

However, most of the time I don’t know what the search query was anymore. And editing is also a pain.

A multi-line text box would be great.
