Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a folder from your Obsidian vault in another application (e.g., Visual Studio Code), so that one or more files within it are in use.
  2. In Obsidian, attempt to move that entire folder to a different location within the vault.
  3. Observe the result (the folder fails to move).

Expected result

A clear error message or notification should appear in Obsidian indicating that the folder move failed because one or more files are currently open or locked by another application.

Actual result

The folder move operation silently fails. No feedback is provided to the user, making it appear as though the application is unresponsive or the action was ignored.
