Kindle highlights to markdown

I don’t have a physical Kindle device so clippings.txt is not an option for me. I was looking at bookcision’s javascript and worked through some python script using beautfulsoup to parse the output of bookcision.

However, that’s now my backup plan. I bumped into Unearthed App ( https://unearthed.app ). This app can support clippings.txt integration but also supports direct reading of one’s library of highlights via a web browser and then, via an Obsidian Community Plug-in, anything you bring into your unearthed app library can be sync’d into obsidian (auto sync or manual - your choice). I think it’s really nice as I have a library of over 800 Kindle books but only a subset have highlights (shared family library so many are books I’m not interested in reading) - I can select all books or just some of my books to sync. Updates are easy too (granted, they are overwrites so you have to treat your Kindle highlights as the master for both highlights and notes).

I tried it, had a couple of issues. Developer was super responsive and very open to fixing issues.
