Additional information
The problem appeared in the latest version of Obsidian – previous versions have worked fine. It seems to be only this one key combination – just ⌥M without the Shift key works (it produces the ’
character in my layout), and other Shift + Option key combinations work (such as ⇧⌥N for the opening quote “
).
I’m using the Nordic keyboard layout (where ⇧⌥M is the standard key for the closing quote, i.e. it is not a shortcut defined by me). But the issue was duplicated on the Obsidian Discord by another user with a different layout (where the key combo normally produces the Â
character but does nothing in Obsidian).
The issue is limited to the note body – in the note title, the key does work. I normally use Vim key bindings, but tried also with that setting disabled – same behavior in both.
There is no keyboard shortcut defined for the key combination in the Obsidian settings.
Attached is a short video clip of me moving around and pressing keys in the Sandbox vault, demonstrating this issue.
