KDE Plasma: global shortcut to open Obsidian's search?

Hi, I know this is more of a Linux question, but I might as well try.

I know how to create a keyboard shortcut to open Obsidian, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to assign a global shortcut to a script that opens (or brings forth if it’s open) Obsidian and focuses on the search field, so you would only have to press the shortcut from anywhere and then type the name of the note you want to edit.

I don’t know how to make scripts (the last time I wrote code was for Macromedia Flash’s ActionScript ), but this seems like such a time saver that I’m betting someone has already done it.
If a similar script doesn’t exist: any tips on how could I learn to do it myself? Or any alternative ideas on how to achieve this?

Thank you.

You can look at this script:

In it, look for the ‘Construct the Obsidian URI and open the search automatically’ part.
Try getting a shell script written by ChatGPT or ClaudeAI based on that script. I reckon Obsidian should open automatically.

You can use Vault Lens search from your browser as well.

With those references, I think I might be able to do it. Thanks a lot!
