What I’m trying to do
Italicize just part of a word, like with_out_, in live preview
Things I have tried
with_out_ as written, and also with a zero-width space between with and _out_.
Other info
This displays correctly in reading view, but I’d like to see it in live preview as well.

You could try using * characters instead of _ characters.
foo*bar*baz
foo*bar*
foo**bar**baz
foo**baz**
