in Obsidian on iPhone, while writing a note, when deleting a word, obsidian unfortunately automatically deleting the space between the word i’m intending to delete and the cursor.
If there’s a space between the cursor and the word, I would expect it to only delete the space. Could you describe what you’re doing more clearly, or show an example?
Sure, yeah it delete the space, example, if i wrote two words, then i regret and backspace the word I’m currently writing, then i will get also one more backspace without my intend to do so. so the cursor will be at end of the first word, resulting me righting the third wordlikethis (with no spaceing).
I’m not able to reproduce this yet (tho I have seen iOS and/or Mac sometimes, in some places, delete a space along with a whole word, which assumed it was meant as a convenience).
If I type Typing mach
(on the way to typing machine
, autocorrect highlights mach
and suggests Mach
.
- If I then press Delete, it deletes the
h
at the end. If I continue to delete letter by letter, deleting theM
does not also delete the space. - If I dismiss the autocorrect and delete letter by letter, deleting the
M
does not also delete the space. - If I double-tap
mach
to select the whole word , then press Delete, it does not also delete the space. - I think I have seen the behavior you describe when deleting whole words in the note name, but it must have been on Mac because it didn’t happen when I tried it on my phone.
I see, Thanks for responding, Actually i have the problem, i uploaded a recorded screen video so you can see, in this icloud link:

I noticed that the note’s properties are displayed right-to-left. (Arabic?) So maybe there’s some issue with the way Obsidian and iOS handle left-to-right text (English) in this context.
