Has anyone experienced disappearing screenshots when adding text to notes with embedded screenshots created on a smartphone and viewed on a computer in Obsidian? I’m using synchronization via Google Drive and have also created a separate folder named .obsidianmobile to speed up launching the mobile version with minimal plugins. It seems that PDF files are also affected by this issue. How can this be resolved?
I don’t have an answer, but for other people reading this to know: the popups on the right side of the screenshot, it is Obsidian warning that the file was edited externally.
First thing, make sure your Google Drive settings are set to keep the files locally on your computer. “Make available offline”. I have no idea if there is a similar setting on mobile.
Otherwise sorry, I don’t know. Make sure you aren’t editing the files on 2 computers at the same time. And make sure you aren’t using 2 different cloud sync tools. In other words, if you are using Google Drive, make sure you are not also using iCloud, OneDrive, Obsidian Sync, etc.
Hello, rigmarole!
I would like to inform you that the issue I previously described in this thread has been successfully resolved. The problem was not with the synchronization method, but with the “Attachment Name Formatting” plugin. After disabling it, the issue with disappearing screenshots and PDF files ceased.
I would like to express my gratitude for the assistance in this matter. Your support and suggestions were very valuable.
This thread can now be closed. Once again, thank you for your help!
Best regards, Vapet
