Is there a way to set a default template for New Note?

I use Obsidian Core Template Plugin. ( Not Templater )

When I click “New Note” button, Is there a way to apply a template by default ?

Now, after creating a new note, I use “Insert Template” button to apply the template!

No, but there is a feature request for this VERY important basic feature. Go vote for it, maybe it will happen some day!

Default template for new note (cltr-n, click to non-existing note)

I created this request to consolidate a few FRs about new note creation. It would be nice when a new note is created to automatically have it populated from a template. A new note is created when: You click the new note button You use the shortcut ctrl-n You use the command palette shortcut You click on a non existent wiklink. Current workaround (optional) Two steps: Create the note Select and insert a template
