Hi guys, i’m new to obsidian and i’m centralizing all my notes from other places in the app. The problem is that I have a lot of note is Portuguese and a lot of notes in English ( I have this organization problem 
). So, i want to put everything in portuguese, for the sake of searching and organization, is there an “easy” way to translate A LOT of notes? I tried the Community Plugin but it’s giving an error…
I guess any plugin which interacts with AI (ChatGPT, …). But “A LOT” will probably require some (API) key/subscription.
Maybe this error you mentioned is also connected with some key.

I may be wrong with the growing amount of options in Obsidian and my inability to to keep track of them but there is not an “easy” way to do it. As TheCaver said, you’ll need to use one of the AI plugins such as Copilot where you can set your own commands to which language the translation will be done into and what AI tool you want to use.
There is a Translate plugin but that functions without AI and maybe less reliable.
So if you want to do this job within Obsidian, it’s going to be slow.
Otherwise scripting would be needed to handle all in batch.
If your English is strong enough, you can keep the English text and make a mental note to search in both languages. In this technological/globalized world, English cannot completely be dropped in any case.
Yeah, I thought about this, maybe it was better if I kept everything in english. I think my engilish is fine, but for deeper reflections and more complex topics I think it’s easier and more fluid to write in portuguese since it’s my main language and I can express myself better. Actually i’m still thinking if I put everything in english or portuguese and since there is a very big amount of notes it will be very hard to change this decision later.
I’ll se if ChatGPT can help me with the scripting

And about the mental note it’s hard because there is some notes that I want to find that I don’t know if I used: “Gym”, “Workout”, “Strength”, “Fitness”, “Physical Performance”, “Bench Press”, etc. So, to search every one of those untill I find the part of the note I want in English and Portugusese is kinda hard. Since i just started centralizing things of many years and many places in obsidian now i wrote in very different ways along the years and it’s very disorganized yet.
I am also a bilingual user. At the expense of my native tongue I need to use English for exactly the type of words mentioned (but I don’t do gym anymore). I cannot get around this either. So what I do is that for some topics (e.g. computer science) I use English only, and for more highbrow stuff, my own.
I have translated Dataview/Tasks queries, Dashboard names to my own language and sometime I cannot find what I am looking for.
Maybe the static base can be left as English and the dynamic part the one their mother taught them.
