Is it possible to set Properties to be collapsed/folded by default?

What I’m trying to do

I’d like all new notes to open with the Properties section at the top folded by default. If I unfold, I’d like it to remain unfolded.

For extra context, I have the Linter plugin add date-created and date-modified properties to all notes, so all my notes contain this metadata.

Things I have tried

I tried setting Properties to Hidden in settings but that hides them completely rather than folding them by default.

There’s a FR here for a vault wide setting:

Use case or problem I have a lot of properties across notes. On mobile I have to scroll down a lot to see the actual note text Proposed solution Instead of the current hide “Properties” or make it “Visible” add a “Collapse” setting that, when selected, keeps the “Properties” collapsed across notes when they are opened. I’ve set the Toggle fold properties in current file command to a hotkey. That’s been working well for me.

There is a trick with CSS where the header is shown folded, and will unfold when hovered with the mouse: CSS - Show properties on hover
