Basically a bunch of thumbnails. Is it possible to get this view (ideally with filters) for all my files in Obsidian?

It depends on how you set up your vault, the theme you choose (you can switch between multiple ones at anytime), and how much you are willing to put in checking out plugins and snippets.
The Minimal theme seems a fit for this kind of setup. There are probably others.
These two might be of your interest. It’s search plugin but can display in cards

The community plugin AidenLX’s Folder Note has an option feature that does something like that.
