Steps to reproduce
- Have a large vault (mine has 3715 files)
- (Possibly) Have iCloud sync ON
- Open “obsidian://new” to create a new note
- (Possibly) Open “obsidian://new” to create another new note
- Type for ~10-15 seconds

No lag/freezing when inputting text into new note.
Actual result
Significant keyboard/text editor lag/freezing when inputting text into new note ~10-15 seconds after starting to type.

Custom theme and snippets: for cosmetic issues, please first try updating your theme and disabling your snippets. If still not fixed, please try to make the issue happen in the Sandbox Vault or disable community theme and snippets. [author’s note: I have disabled all 3 of my CSS snippets and even moved them outside the designated ‘snippets’ folder, restarted the app and tapped on ‘reload snippets’: it shows 0 snippets (none at all, not merely disabled) yet this recommendation keeps appearing]
Additional information
- I couldn’t reproduce this bug in two new vaults that I created for testing purposes. The first vault was local, the second one was also iCloud. It seems to only affect large vaults.
- This happens regardless if the URI scheme is ran as a Shortcuts.app shortcut or via Safari.
- My Obsidian iCloud folder is set as “Keep Downloaded” in iCloud Drive (new feature in iOS 18), meaning that all the files are locally stored.

I restored from a backup a couple of times, maybe that was what fixed it
