iOS: Visual parts of Properties underneath the YAML block when switching from Live Preview to Source

I’m sorry for the title  … I didn’t know how to describe what I’ve stumbled upon :innocent:
If a mod has a better title on hand, feel free to rename the topic

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a “mobile sandbox” vault in Obsidian on iPhone (I can’t repro on iPad, after a quick test)

  2. Create a new note

  3. Add one property to Properties in Live Preview

    • Note: I used the command Add file property available in the command palette to do so
  4. Once done, switch from Live Preview to Source mode

    • Note: I used the option </> Source mode available in the “3 dots” menu (•••) at the top right of the note to do so

→ Parts of the Properties “box” are still visible on the left and right of the YAML frontmatter block in Source (See screenshot below  )

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Yes

Expected result

Not having these bits of Properties appearing when going from Live Preview to Source, I guess

Actual result

I’m not really sure how to describe what I’m seeing  … but when switching to Source mode, the left and right parts of Properties are still visually present in Source for some reasons :woman_shrugging:

Environment

SYSTEM INFO:
Operating system: ios 18.7.2 (Apple iPhone17,1)
	Obsidian version: 1.11.3 (276)
	API version: v1.11.3

	Language: en
	Catalyst license: supporter
	Live preview: on
	Base theme: adapt to system
	Community theme: none
	Snippets enabled: 0
	Restricted mode: on

RECOMMENDATIONS:
	none

Additional information

  • These “parts” of the Properties “box” while visible don’t stay and disappear if I switch to another tab or set the focus/cursor in the note in Source mode
  • As far as I can tell, it’s only a visual thing
  • I’ve encountered this both in a “mobile sandbox” vault stored in iCloud and in another one stored locally (On My iPhone > Obsidian)

The content of the note used to test this is simply:

---
key: value
---

Is this still happening for you using the latest insider-mobile-release?

It might be hard to see from the .gif, but I don’t see any visual leftovers when switching from Live Preview to Source in the light or dark color scheme (default theme). It may have been sorted out at some point.

I was looking for another Properties related issue, came across this, and thought I’d have a look :grinning:

For some reasons, I can still repro

But it doesn’t stick around :woman_shrugging:
I mean, if I let the note on Source and let my phone lock itself, when I unlock it these “remaining parts” of Properties aren’t there anymore.

I thought it had to do with iCloud but I can repro in a local vault.

It doesn’t seem to happen if the onscreen keyboard is visible, the note is focused on and I trigger the view switch from the command palette (using Toggle Live Preview/Source mode) but it does occur when I enable the Source mode from the “3 dots menu” (•••) at the top right of the note  .

No need to be sorry  !
It could totally have been silently fixed in a release or another  .

As I forgot to check this visual thing this was a good reminder .
