After a change to how youtube operates (likely to curtail AI scraping), video embedding stopped working across the board.
We did the necessary changes for Desktop and Android.
Unfortunately, there is no easy way currently to be compliant to what YouTube wants from the iOS / iPadOS side due to lack of appropriate APIs in our tech stack (iOS/Capacitor).
This is going to be a difficult problem to address.
we will have another approach to address this problem in 1.10.4. No ETAs.
Now that you have received 1.10.5. Is this bug fixed for all of you?
It works in markdown and in canvas now but not in Excalidraw plugin on iOS and iPadOS.
I have tried fixing it by building the plugin with it’s YouTube embeds iframe’s referrerPolicy set to strict-origin-when-cross-origin but no luck.
For exalidraw, you need to search/open a BR in their repo.
I did. Looking back to the BR, the author has already found the proper fix
