[iOS] Can’t split the view while viewing a canvas

Steps to reproduce

  1. With only a single view open, open a canvas note.
  2. Open the command pallet.
  3. Start typing a split view command.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Yes

Expected result

Commands to split the view appear and can be used.

Actual result

No split view commands appear, preventing the view from being splittable as long as the open note is a canvas note.

Additional information

  • The commands appear as expected if a regular note is open.
  • Possibly related: if the view is already split and a canvas note is opened in one of the views, files can’t be opened in that view from the sidebar once cursor focus has been moved to a different note (i.e., you can’t tap back in the canvas note and then use the sidebar/file browser to open a different note in that view unless you return to actively editing text within it).

I am not sure I understand you. Can you post a screen recording?

Is it possible that you need to tap on the canvas so it is active?

It would be hard to screen record, since it wouldn’t show the taps, but I might be able to find a way. But basically I currently am tapping on the canvas to try and make it active, but that doesn’t seem to actually make it active when it comes to opening a note from the sidebar. The note on the other side is what gets changed by the sidebar, even after you’ve tapped on the canvas note to try and make it the one that’s active.

I noticed something odd while doing so, though: tapping the canvas with my finger doesn’t change the focus over to it, but tapping it with my mouse (trackpad) cursor does change the focus. You can tell when I’m using the trackpad because that’s when you can see the cursor.
