iOS app icon only uses the correct dark icon when large icon setting is enabled

Steps to reproduce

In iOS 18, press down on any empty area of the home screen, tap edit, and select customize. In the customization menu, switch the icons to dark mode and toggle between Small and Large icon size.

Expected result

When the dark icon and small icon settings are both enabled, the Obsidian app icon background should have a gradient.

Actual result

It uses the ordinary icon when small icons are enabled, but uses the updated icon when large icons are enabled.

I can confirm that this is still a thing.

I will also add that the icon of the Web Clipper has the “correct” color on either small or big size icons.

confirming also that this still has not been fixed. very frustrating cosmetic bug for me

I found a workaround!

I was able to combine the official iOS 18 gradient with the Obsidian icon using the handy generator.

Then I was able to replace home screen icon using the Shortcuts app.

Here is the 1024px version:

The icon background for the iOS App needs to be fixed. I use the dark setting for iOS Apps on my home screen and the background of the Obsidian app does not match with standard dark color of other dark mode app icons.

The Obsidian Web Clipper app icon uses the correct icon background. My request is to maintain the same icon background for the official Obsidian app as the Obsidian Web Clipper app.
