Intermittent Black Screen in Obsidian – Need Troubleshooting Advice

Hi Everyone,

Iam experiencing an intermittent black screen when I open Obsidian. The application briefly loads, but then the interface goes completely blank, preventing me from accessing my notes.

I have tried reinstalling the app and checking for any conflicting plugins, but the issue persists. Has anyone else encountered this, and do you have any suggestions or workarounds that might help resolve it? Thanks in advance for your help!

this happens to me when it goes over 4gb memory use, and usually a plugin is causing it. only other thing I can think is a graphics error

This is related to bad/outdated CSS snippets, themes or plugins.

Steps:

  1. Activate safe mode basically deactivate all plugins at once. Didn’t help? Read on
  2. Deactivate CSS snippets. Does nothing? Read on
  3. Deactivate your theme

Obviously, open the CMD palette and do a “reload obsidian without saving” after each step to verify.
