Intentional line breaks disappear when pasting, after updating to 1.13

Steps to reproduce

I’m reaching out today as it seems that something “broke” when I updated to 1.13.0 on June 3rd.
In case it helps to know: I also use the Minimal Theme on my 2022 MacBook Air M2 with OS Tahoe 26.5.1. I’ve not made any updates or changes since updating Obsidian to 1.13.0 on June 3rd (and 1.13.1 today).

A key workflow for me is drafting an email (or sometimes a text message) in Obsidian and then pasting it into email (or text).
Since June 3rd, when I draft an email (or text) in Obsidian, and I paste it into the Mail app on my Mac (or the iMessages app) all of the intentional line breaks (created by using the hard-return key) disappear. I have to add them back in manually. This is time consuming & frustrating. (In case it helps to know, this happens both when pasting normally and also when pasting-without-formatting/pasting-as-plain text).
In short, after composing text in Obsidian with intentional line breaks, if I copy and paste it into an email or text message, the line breaks disappear.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Y

Expected result

I would expect to see the text as it appears in Obsidian – with intentional line breaks, rather than without them.

Actual result

The intentional line breaks disappeared and I had to add them back in manually.

Additional information

In case it helps to know, I also updated the Minimal Theme the same day. So this could be related to the theme. I greatly appreciate your help

@kepano

Please, don’t ping people. It’s against the CoC.

Download and reinstall Obsidian.

  • Does it happen in the sandbox vault?
  • when you copy from Obsidian and paste in the other app with Cmd-shift-v, does it happen?

I apologize for pinging, this is my first time on the forum and an avid Obsidian user advised me to do so. So sorry.

I don’t know what the sandbox is, but yes, as mentioned, this happens both when pasting normally (cmd-v) and also when pasting-without-formatting aka pasting-as-plain text (cmd-shift-v).

I was told this evening that it’s a known bug and should be resolved with the next beta release :crossed_fingers:t3:

I had a brief look here in the forum and on Discord (the insider-desktop-release channel), but couldn’t find anything mentioning this. I could have very well missed it. Where did this “it’s a known bug” info come from?
