Insert the text of a note in the template at a specific place

I am looking for a way to have a text inserted in a specific place in the template.

What I want to achieve:
I have a note, for example:

“ESM refers to structured self-report diary techniques that assess mood, symptoms, context, and ratings of how they occur in daily life. One crucial aspect is that participants are providing data in the real world.” “The open handbook of experience sampling methodology: a step-by-step guide to designing, conducting, and analyzing ESM studies,” 2021, p. 10)

Now I apply to this note my template, which looks like this:

Now the text is inserted below the last special characters. Is there a way to make the text from the note in the template be inserted in the following place:

The markup of your example seems to be garbled. Could you please check it and adjust it to whatever you intended to post?

I’m not sure if this addresses your problem, but templates are inserted at the cursor, so you can put the cursor wherever you want the template to appear.
