Indented text looks weird

I’m new to Obsidian but one bit seems weirdly designed to me.

I often indent text like this:

When I indent in Obsidian it looks like this:

This is a fussy point but I really don’t like how the vertical line isn’t aligned to the left of the text (eg how it is in the first image). Is it possible to change how it looks?

Or should saving the data in some other way. I don’t want to have separate files as I want to see and edit the text easily from one view.

In Markdown, you don’t want to be randomly indenting. In some cases you’ll create a code block with four or more spaces (a tab), or sometimes what you have there. If you switch to Reading view, you notice the indentation is removed.

Try using lists. e.g.

- parentA  
    - child1  
        - child-of-child  
    - child2  
- ParentB
