Control+Shift+f opens the file explorer search box and puts focus/cursor in the search window (as it should be). When you click on the ‘search’ icon, it shows the file explorer search box but does not put focus/cursor in the search window. It should automatically do that.

This has been fixed long time ago. Clicking the icon or pressing hotkey puts focus and selects text in search input box.
