Images copied from the web no longer retain their original filenames

Steps to reproduce

Copy an image from a website using the “Copy Image” command
Ctrl+V in Obsidian

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y]

Expected result

Until a few months ago, the image was pasted with the original filename; basically, the file was downloaded and placed where it was supposed to go.
This was always done using Firefox on the same website.

Actual result

The image is downloaded, but renamed as pastedimage+date.png
This happens both in my actual vault, which has numerous plugins, and in the sandbox

It sounds like a clipboard manager, screenshot utility, etc., changing the name before it’s pasted into Obsidian.

Do you see the behavior pasting into other apps? Have you installed any system level utilities that deal with the clipboard and images, screenshots, etc? I’d investigate there to start.

I installed PowerToys, but I don’t think I enabled any image renaming features.

I tried pasting an image into Word, and it was pasted with its URL in the alt text.

I don’t think I’ve installed another editor to test this with.

Another thing I noticed is that if, instead of copying the image from the browser, I download it and then paste the file into Obsidian, the filename is correct even though the source is outside the vault.

I tried switching computer and browsers, but the issue remains the same
